2016 AFL Season Forecast

Preview by: Matt McGrath – @McRathDT

One can’t help but get the feeling that Fremantle’s time at the top-end of the ladder is running out after failing to make the Grand Final for a second year running. But whilst they have lost key defender Luke McPharlin to retirement, their best side remains largely intact. With some handy, mature-aged additions, the Dockers will be looking to be right up there yet again come September.

Despite failing in their dogged attempt to pry Cam McCarthy from GWS in the trade period, they did succeed in a shrewd deal to get talented midfielder Harley Bennell. Along with a few midfield draft steals in Darcy Tucker and Harley Balic, Fremantle had a balanced approach at the draft table – also bringing in mature-aged players in defender Samuel Collins and goal-kicker Shane Yarran.

If their ageing trio of Pavlich, Mundy and Sandilands can hang around to support their current crop of stars in reigning Brownlow winner Nat Fyfe, and Ballantyne, Walters and Barlow then 2016 could well be their year.

Predicted Finish: 1st – 3rd

I think the dockers will fished maybe 3rd or 7th I think the dockers will have a good year but beyond that the dockers need a main gold to is to be at our best but the recruiting in the draft was very low dockers put less 10 years for players and dockers don’t do it enough but the will do ok
