Power Rankings

Hawthorn HAWTHORN Another game, another win. They keep on keeping on.
GWS Ooh, they got nasty against Richmond and didn’t get complacent. Great signs. They key forward mix is still an issue.
Adelaide ADELAIDE Did what they had to do against the Bombers. Time to keep boosting that percentage.
Geelong GEELONG 3 votes, Geelong, P Dangerfield. Without him, they’d be in serious strife this season.
Sydney SYDNEY  While it was only against the Dockers, the Swans played one of their best game of the season lifting their percentage to a very healthy 140. Kicked 21 goals with Buddy only contributing two – the Bloods are coming.
Western Bulldogs WESTERN BULLDOGS They’re only just hanging on and now Libba and Macrae are out for an extended period of time. Jake Stringer needs to start playing better footy, his football club needs him and he has been insipid.
North Melbourne NORTH MELBOURNE +2 Strong win by the Kangas against the Saints in Boomer’s 427th. Next four rounds will say a lot about their prospects for 2016.
West Coast WEST COAST -2 Ahh West Coast, thank you for proving me right. That loss against Collingwood was simply unacceptable.
Port Adelaide PORT ADELAIDE If I told you John Butcher would outscore Richmond on the same day of football, you would think the apocalypse is near.
St Kilda ST KILDA -2 They’ve been up for a long time and couldn’t maintain the rage against North. Fans will likely get flashbacks of the 09 Grand Final with the abysmal kicking for goal
Melbourne MELBOURNE  The much maligned Jack Watts was the hero kicking the winning goal, which was about all there was to get excited about for Dees’ fans. Two point win against the Suns hardly inspiring stuff.
Collingwood COLLINGWOOD Strong win by the Pies against the only other side as disappointing as them this season. Darcy Moore gave Pies fans a glimpse into the future in the first half.
Carlton CARLTON Another honourable loss by the Blues against a premiership fancy. Cripps’ 11 clearances against Hawthorn is an effort not to be sneezed at.
Gold Coast GOLD COAST +1  Brave effort from the Suns who went into the game with none of their regular midfielders. The curse on professional sporting sides on the Gold Coast continues.
Richmond RICHMOND -1 I’d hate to know how the Tigers would play if they weren’t playing for their coach.
Fremantle FREMANTLE  Took Retro Round far too seriously, and left the Pav out to dry with a pretty dismal effort. He deserved better in his 350th.
BL BRISBANE LIONS Did you know that Brisbane was known to the early Aboriginal people as “Mian-jin”, which means “place shaped like a spike”. That fact is more interesting than anything Brisbane has done this season.
Essendon ESSENDON Thank god there are four games left in this season so this football club can move on.
