Here’s a player who I really like the look of. The 22 year old utility is one of those players that can play anywhere on the field. Over his short career at GWS Tomlinson has played as a forward, a defender and a roaming wingman.
Tomlinson was selected at pick 9 in the 2011 national draft. The highly rated youngster averaged 74 and 73 on his second and third years, and coming into his fourth season in 2015 I really thought he could take his game up a notch and kick on from that average. However he struggled to get into the team at the start of the season and was then hampered by injury, which ultimately lead to him making only eight senior appearances.
There were rumours in the off season that he’d return to Victoria and the Giants were willing to do a deal. Tomlinson is at a make or break point in his career coming into his 5th season, and will be going into drafts for a large discount on where he was going last season – well worth a late punt in your draft.
