Here’s a player that will be off the fantasy radar of many a coach. With a debut season of 70 fantasy points in 2013 many stashed him in keeper leagues hoping for big things. However his following two seasons weren’t as prosperous as many thought they would be, with Vlastuin averaging 64 and 62 fantasy points respectively in those two years.
Since being selected by the Tigers with pick nine of the 2012 national draft, Vlastuin has played an impressive 61 games in his first three seasons of football and has become a pillar in the Tigers defense. Having so much senior experience coming into his fourth season can only be a bonus for him.
At 187cm, the Tigers will be looking for him to step up as a rebounding defender and do damage going the other way, rather than just stopping the opposition. He has enough senior experience now to step up to the plate and get more of the footy. I’ll be watching in the preseason to see what role the Tigers give him, as he may well be worth a late flyer.
