Travis Cloke’s first-round performance was one to forget, as he failed to register a shot on goal from his 7 disposals.
Cloke was swamped, well beaten by Luke McPharlin in the rare one-on-one contests he enjoyed. For the most part he was double or triple-teamed, with Zac Dawson and Michael Johnson lending support. With Jarrod Witts failing to provide a second dangerous option, Fremantle had the luxury of being able to focus their defensive attention on the Magpie spearhead. Cloke’s fantasy total of 35 was his lowest since round 9, 2012 and he desperately needs Jesse White or Ben Reid to return and take away some of the defensive heat.
