Footy Prophet Tipsters – Round 4

In a world of fantasy and drafting, tipping has been forgotten. But we at Footy Prophet appreciate tradition and a sense of the old-school. Footy Prophet experts will go head to head in season 2017, which will no doubt provide some unexpected results. As well as to give a sense of expectation for results of the weekend ahead, we’ll see which Footy Prophet Writer reigns supreme and who knows their footy best.

JARRYD BARCA

Sydney, North Melbourne, Melbourne, Greater Western Sydney, Gold Coast, Adelaide, St Kilda, Brisbane, Hawthorn

Pick of the week: Sydney. It could be seen as quite random and surprising to lock in the Swans – a side sitting 0-3 – but such has been the story all year. Many results in the first three weeks of the 2017 season have been unpredictable, but all you have to do is follow the pattern. Teams with their backs against the wall are coming out on the weekend and playing as if it were their final match. Not a bad record either in Perth; expect a menacing Buddy and a rampant Sydney.

DAVID CARDAMONE

Sydney, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, Greater Western Sydney, Carlton, Adelaide, St Kilda, Richmond, Geelong

Pick of the week: It’s amazing how much difference a week makes, Fremantle change their fortunes on the weekend with youth providing a spark that illustrated that the Dockers can still match it with the best in the competition defeating the reigning premiers. Melbourne are a chance but simply have too many stars out Lewis, Hogan and Gawn all integral members, if Fremantle bring last weeks form to the table they’ll be comfortable winners on the weekend.

MATT MCGRATH

West Coast, Western Bulldogs, Melbourne, Greater Western Sydney, Carlton, Adelaide, Collingwood, Richmond, Geelong

Pick of the week: Let’s face it, right now Hawthorn are playing like a bottom four team and don’t look like getting a win. Stranger things have happened, but it would be a huge shock if they defeated their fierce rival Geelong this Easter Monday.

BEN PASCUZZI

Sydney, North Melbourne, Melbourne, Greater Western Sydney, Carlton, Adelaide, Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn

Pick of the week: The Crows proved last week that they are the number one team in South Australia against a much-improved Port Adelaide side, easily finishing them off in the final term. Whereas the Bombers are coming off a disappointing loss to Carlton in trying conditions last weekend, and a road trip will not help their cause. Expect the Crows to give them a touch up.

JAMIE RADFORD

Sydney, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, Greater Western Sydney, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Collingwood, Richmond, Geelong

Pick of the week: Adelaide to defeat Essendon. Although Essendon won’t be nearly as bad as they were last week against Carlton, it’s hard to see them bouncing back enough to topple the Crows in Adelaide. Even without McGovern and Jenkins, Adelaide still have plenty of fire power to kick a winning score, and while it won’t be a repeat of the last two seasons in which the Crows have beaten the Bombers by a combined 194 points, they’ll still be too good on Saturday night.

DERYK THOMAS

West Coast, Western Bulldogs, Melbourne, Greater Western Sydney, Gold Coast, Adelaide, St Kilda, Richmond, Hawthorn

Pick of the week: Hawthorn haven’t given us much to be excited about. But maybe the MCG on an Easter Monday in front of a big crowd might just remind the Hawks how to be a big-game team again, and I’m sure the Master Coach Alastair Clarkson has something in his kit bag to spur on the team. Don’t forget Melbourne kicked themselves out of the Cats game. I wouldn’t normally tip such a rank outsider but how many roughies have come in so far this year. Hawks over the Cats #gowiththeflow
