The fourth edition of Ultimate Footy’s Dual Position changes have arrived for 2018. With bye weeks in full effect, some of these changes could become handy for your side should you be short of a few players over the fixtures.

On this occasion, we see 9 players gain another position — 4 defenders, 3 Midfielders and 2 Forwards. Like the last changes, there are no rucks added.

A few weeks ago we reviewed the post by Ultimate Footy and their decision making on this occasion after the last batch of players were added with DPP. However, there was no update on the last round of changes leaving a bit more mystery to this update. This means we’re left with only one more round of changes in Round 15 to make any moves.

Here’s the list…

Jackson Trengove (WB – F) add B
Average: 63.6
Trengove has been an interesting addition to the Dogs backline since crossing over from Port Adelaide in the off-season. He’s played just the five matches so far, but his last three games have provided some much-needed height to defence, adding 4 rebound 50s in each of the past three games. He’s averaging 15.2 disposals, 4.6 marks and 2.6 tackles a match. Not a big change for most leagues with his output but a handy change in competitions.

Jordan Lewis (ME – C) add B
Average: 79.1
Lewis has played predominantly off the half-back for most of the year, so it’s no surprise to see this position change. The 294-gamer is averaging 23.6 disposals a game, 5.3 marks and 3 rebound 50s a match. It’s still a far-cry from his Hawthorn days, but at the very least, it’s a good result for those needing the depth in the their backline.

Aaron Black (GE – F) add B
Average: 62.7
We may as well write this one off. Black’s horrendeous leg break on the weekend will see him out of action for the rest of the year, even most of next year from the ACL. Nonetheless, it’s positive for keeper leagues with a swingman position (should he helf on to it next year). He hasn’t kicked a goal from his three games, but was look like a decent acquisition off the backline for the most part with scores of 75 and 83 until the injury.

Shane Kersten (FR – F) add B
Average: 55.7
Another former Geelong player, Kersten made way for Black at the end of 2016 and has also made a move to defence. Another similarity in only playing three games for the year, he’s averaging 16 disposals, 5.7 marks, 2 inside 50s and 1.7 rebound 50s a game. Although he’s going well, his output needs to be higher to make him fantasy relevant for the remainder of the season.

Elliot Yeo (WC – B) add C
Average: 97.9
Finally a big name. This won’t do much for the owners of Yeo due to his relevance in the defensive line anyway. The utility has gona from a forward to a back to a mid in a couple of seasons making him a little bit of a worry for owners in a keeper league. At 24.3 disposals, 4.5 marks, and 6 tackles, 4.9 clearances, 4.4 inside 50s, 2.1 rebound 50s a game, Yeo has it all covered. It was only a matter of time before the dreaded C was added to his DPP change. If you have him, it’s a good idea to move him on in the offseason of a keepers league for full value.

Matt Guelfi (ES – F) add C
Average: 72.8
A debutant this season, Guelfi has impressed with 17 disposals, 4 marks and 3.1 tackles per game. This was highlighted in the win over the Giants in round 10 thanks to 21 touches, 4 marks, 5 tackles and 5 rebound 50s on the day. Although he’s only kicked 2 goals so far for the season, at this projection he could be one of the Bombers’ shining lights on what’s been a disappointing season so far.

Brandon Matera (FR – F) add C
Average: 65
Since the 26-year old came across from Gold Coast to Fremantle, his numbers haven’t changed a whole lot making this somewhat of a nothing move. Matera has played 11 games so far, missing just round 11. At 15.7 disposals a game, 3.7 marks and 3.5 inside 50s, there isn’t much to like about a forward getting midfield status. He’s kicked 9 goals for the year, but none since round 8.

Mark Baguley (ES – B) add F
Average: 64.7
Baguley’s stocks rose when he kicked 3 goals against the Giants, but since then it’s been a far-cry from his two scores in the 90s in round 9-10. Averaging just 11.9 disposals and 4.2 tackles a game, his role as a defensive forward has changed his game. In round 12 he had 6 inside 50s from just his 9 disposals, but of that were 4 clangers. It’s hard to see where his points will come from if he’s not kicking goals in the next few weeks.

Jason Johannisen (WB – B) add F
Average: 70.4
The 2016 Norm Smith Medalist has been a shell of his premiership-winning season form, and is somewhat of a barometer for the Bulldogs. His run off half-back has turned into run into half-forward, but this decision to make JJ a forward at this stage is still a bit of a dubious call, possibly even missing the mark to make him a midfielder instead. He’s averaging 19.2 disposals, 4.1 marks, 3.2 inside 50s and 1.9 rebound 50s. Aside from that he’s kicked just 2.4 for the season. Sadly, he hasn’t scored more than 83 points for the season though.
