Witts shoulders ruck duties

Jarrod Witts has had a solid match as Collingwood’s go-to ruckman in the win over Geelong.

Analysis

With usual number one ruck Brodie Grundy being used predominantly as a forward, it was left to Witts to shoulder the ruck duties for Collingwood. Witts had no problems with the Geelong ruck pair of Zac Smith and Rhys Stanley, winning 32 hitouts to be the best performed ruckman on the ground. Pleasingly, Witts was also able to add a goal of his own in the win and appears to be developing as a very solid second ruckman for the Magpies.
